On a mission to restore and enable profound physical ability, Atom Limbs raised more than $7.6M through Purpose Rounds. Their phased offering approach combined with expert storytelling created a compelling offering at the intersection of mission, tech and market opportunity.

Mission

In 2021, the company, known for its mind-controlled prosthetic bionic arm, ran a Regulation Crowdfunding offering through WeFunder that raised more than $1 million in under an hour — demonstrating the power of turning customers and community into owners and advocates. It also created momentum that the team could actively extend through all phases of their crowdfunding campaign.
They returned to Wefunder in 2022, raising an additional $5 million by further activating the limb loss community and their growing product waitlist. The campaign swelled from targeted advertising that conveyed the impact such innovation can have on millions of people’s lives coupled with the sizeable potential market opportunity.
Finally, during 2023 and into 2024, Atom Limbs raised an additional $1.7 million, again in collaboration with Wefunder. In demonstration of their continued momentum, prior to the offering, they secured a lead investor, Daniel Ha of Antigravity Ventures and former co-founder and CEO of Disqus. The company also gave existing investors early access to the offering, a move that underlines a Purpose Round’s dedicated to supporting community.
Founder Tyler Hayes actively participated in the offering across all phases, including hosting webinars with current and prospective investors, posting regular campaign updates and talking with reporters across various types of media. Atom Limbs took a ‘show, don’t tell’ approach to telling their story, threading the needle between impact and growth, purpose and profitability - all hallmarks of a true Purpose Round.
